CNC Steel Processing Machine Operator
Location: Cocoa Beach, FL
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shifts: 1st and 2nd Shift
Pay Rate: Up to $27.00/hour, depending on experience
2nd Shift Differential: Additional $3.00/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a CNC Machine Operator with structural steel fabrication experience to operate automated equipment used for cutting, drilling, and processing steel components. Candidates must be able to measure materials accurately, follow fabrication drawings, and safely handle steel using overhead cranes and material-handling systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and adjust machine controls and operating parameters to meet production requirements.
- Measure raw materials and verify dimensions against design specifications.
- Select the correct material type, stock size, and dimensions for each job.
- Transfer required measurements, markings, and production information onto materials.
- Operate CNC plasma cutting equipment or sawing, drilling, and cutting machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities and material usage.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and assist with troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Safely operate overhead cranes and material transfer or conveyor systems.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with workplace safety procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating a CNC plasma table or performing sawing, drilling, or cutting operations.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately to within 1/16 inch.
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations.
- Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and material handling or transfer systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in environments with varying hot and cold temperatures.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe, organized work area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including symbols and notes.

- Ficep Beamline
- Familiarity with Tekla PowerFab.
Shift Information:
- First- and second-shift opportunities are available. Second-shift employees receive an additional $3.00 per hour shift differential.
