An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Manager to join a large-scale transformation environment in Brisbane. This is a newly created position supporting a significant Finance Transformation initiative and will work alongside an existing Project Manager to take ownership of a dedicated stream of work.

The organisation is currently in the early stages of shaping and planning its Finance Transformation, with a significant program of work ahead across finance systems, capabilities, procurement and implementation. This role will suit a hands-on, delivery-focused Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership of complex projects from initiation and planning through procurement and ultimately into execution.

About the Role:

As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for a defined stream of the Finance Transformation portfolio, working closely with senior stakeholders, finance leaders, procurement teams and technology stakeholders.

The initial focus will be on establishing the project foundations, developing the business case and project plans, supporting the procurement process and preparing the organisation for implementation.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Lead the initiation and planning of a major Finance Transformation project.

- Develop and maintain project plans, governance structures, milestones, risks, issues and dependencies.

- Work closely with Finance, Technology, Procurement and senior business stakeholders.

- Lead and coordinate procurement activities through to contract award.

- Work closely with procurement teams around evaluation strategies, documentation, probity and procurement governance.

- Support the development of business cases and associated project documentation.

- Translate business requirements into a clear delivery roadmap.

- Manage vendors and stakeholders through the procurement and delivery lifecycle.

- Establish appropriate governance and reporting frameworks.

- Identify and manage risks, dependencies, resourcing requirements and project constraints.

- Take ownership of delivery outcomes and ensure the project remains aligned to broader transformation objectives.

- Work collaboratively with the existing Project Manager to ensure clear separation of workstreams and effective coordination across the broader Finance Transformation.

About You:

We are looking for a proven Project Manager with strong delivery capability and experience operating within complex enterprise environments.

You will ideally bring:

- Significant experience delivering complex business transformation or finance system projects.

- Strong experience across project initiation, planning, procurement and implementation.

- Experience delivering ERP, Finance Systems or Finance Transformation projects.

- A strong understanding of procurement processes and governance within Queensland Government or similarly regulated environments.

- Experience working through procurement activities including requirements, SPP/ITO documentation, evaluation strategies and contract award.

- The ability to work effectively with robust procurement and governance functions.

- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior executives and business leaders.

- Excellent project governance, planning and reporting capability.

- The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of a significant workstream.

- Strong commercial and delivery focus, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and changing priorities.

Experience working with TechnologyOne / TechOne or similar enterprise finance platforms will be highly regarded, although candidates with broader ERP or Finance Transformation experience will also be considered.
