Location: On-site in Dallas, Texas or Burr Ridge, Illinois. We are an in-office team that values collaboration and close interaction, while understanding that occasional work-from-home flexibility may be needed.

Note: Must have 3+ years of patent infringement litigation experience, a strong technical background such as electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or a similar field, and active bar admission in at least one U.S. state. The ideal candidate has 3 to 6 years of experience, with large-firm litigation experience strongly preferred.

Base compensation for associates in the target experience range is $200,000 to $250,000, with flexibility based on experience and strong bonus potential.

Job Description

- Take an active role in complex patent infringement litigation from early case strategy through resolution and trial preparation

- Research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses, and other substantive litigation materials

- Analyze patent infringement, validity, claim construction, and complex technical issues

- Participate in discovery, depositions, expert-related work, hearings, and trial preparation

- Work directly with partners on litigation strategy, case development, and client needs

- Collaborate with technical experts and attorneys to translate complex technologies into persuasive legal arguments

- Manage meaningful portions of matters while continuing to expand your litigation experience and responsibility

Qualifications

- 3+ years of patent infringement litigation experience

- Strong technical background, ideally in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or a related technology field

- Active bar admission and good standing in at least one U.S. state

- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills

- Experience handling sophisticated federal litigation matters

- Large-firm patent litigation experience strongly preferred
