Manufacturing Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician to join Aspect’s Technical Operations team. You will be responsible for the preparation, formulation, and in-process testing, and manufacturing of cell therapy products, and biomaterials used across all of Aspect’s bioprinted tissue therapeutic programs. This role is critical to ensuring consistent, high-quality, and aseptic cell therapy production to enable preclinical research, process development, and clinical manufacturing activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform aseptic handling, isolation, expansion, passaging, harvest, and cryopreservation of cell lines, alongside the preparation, formulation, compounding, filtration, and aliquoting of therapeutic biomaterials under standardized protocols and cGMP guidelines.
- Prepare, setup, and operate biomanufacturing equipment, automated cell processing platforms, bioprinters, and analytical instrumentation used in cell therapy and biomaterial production used in cell therapy and biomaterial preparation.
- Maintain accurate, timely, detailed batch records, logs, and production documentation in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality standards.
- Perform aseptic sampling, verify equipment integrity and batch conformity.
- Partner closely with R&D, Process Development, and Quality Assurance teams to transfer, scale up, and validate new cell lines, biomaterials, and manufacturing workflows.
- Support inventory management and ordering of raw materials, reagents, and consumables required, and routine cleaning, sanitization, calibration, and maintenance of cleanrooms and production equipment.
- Promptly identify, log, and report any deviations, non-conformances, or equipment malfunctions promptly to supervisor, assisting with root-cause analysis and CAPA implementations.
- Follow aseptic and cleanroom best practices to ensure material integrity and contamination control.
- Proactivity Identify and propose improvements to process efficiency, material and cell handling consistency, and documentation practices.
- Ensure a safe working environment by following all health and safety procedures and contributing to hazard assessments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education + Experience: B.Sc. or diploma in Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or related life sciences discipline with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a regulated environment or manufacturing environment, preferably in cell therapy, biologics, or pharmaceutical production.
- Cell Therapy Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture techniques (aseptic feeding, passaging, counting, viability analysis, and cryopreservation). Direct experience with primary cells, stem cells, or cell therapy platforms is highly preferred.
- Aseptic Technique: Demonstrated expertise in strict aseptic processing and working in cleanroom environments.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with laboratory equipment, formulation techniques, and cell processing equipment.

The hiring range for this role is $68,000 - $78,000 annually. Our ranges are based on market data. Offered salaries will be based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. For candidates who exceed role requirements, we are open to exploring above-range offers. Note that base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Aspect.
