Position Summary:
Program Managers at Colt’s Manufacturing Company are responsible for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of commercial, military, law-enforcement, and operational projects and programs. They provide cross-functional leadership and oversee multiple initiatives from initiation through completion.
Program Managers establish project plans, parts and inventory tracking, schedules, and budgets. They coordinate resources and drive teams toward key milestones and deliverables. They identify risks, resolve barriers, and ensure program requirements remain aligned with company objectives.
This role requires strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Program Managers must be able to manage competing priorities, hold teams accountable, and drive programs to successful completion.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret program requirements and develop detailed, integrated project plans for military, law-enforcement, commercial, and operational programs.
- Establish and maintain program schedules, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and critical paths. Drive cross-functional teams to meet established commitments.
- Develop, organize, and maintain comprehensive program documentation, trackers, reports, risk registers, executive presentations, and other key program deliverables.
- Lead regular cross-functional program meetings to communicate priorities, milestones, status, risks, issues, decisions, and expectations.
- Coordinate activities across Sales, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Procurement, Marketing, and other functional teams to ensure successful program execution.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, including senior leadership, project teams, customers, suppliers, and external partners.
- Identify, assess, and monitor program risks. Develop mitigation plans and ensure appropriate actions are assigned and completed.
- Identify and resolve program issues and barriers to execution. Escalate significant concerns to leadership when necessary.
- Monitor program schedules, budgets, resources, and overall performance. Identify variances and drive corrective actions when program objectives are at risk.
- Manage program scope and evaluate changes that may affect schedule, cost, resources, or deliverables.
- Establish clear ownership and accountability for program actions and deliverables. Follow through with functional owners to ensure commitments are completed.
- Develop, document, maintain, and continuously improve processes within the New Product Development process to improve efficiency, consistency, and program execution.
- Support program reviews and phase-gate activities by ensuring required deliverables are completed and programs are prepared to advance to the next phase.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
