About the Working Families Party
The Working Families Party (WFP) is the progressive party for the multiracial working class, fighting for a nation that works for the many, not the few. We recruit, train, and support transformational candidates up and down the ballot — and run them to win.
We believe that no matter where we come from or what our color, most of us want the same things. We want to earn enough to thrive, not just survive, and leave a better future for our kids. We want healthy food and clean water, safe neighborhoods and a safe world. We want to be free.
The Working Families Party is regular people coming together across our differences to make a better future for us all. We’re a multiracial party that fights for workers over bosses and people over the powerful. We want an America which realizes the promise – unrealized in our history – of freedom and equality for all.
ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP
The WFP Georgia Electoral Organizing Fellowship is a four-month, hands-on organizing program that develops new organizers while building the people power needed to win elections and grow the Working Families Party across Metro Atlanta.
This is a direct voter contact and volunteer organizing position. Fellows will talk with voters, recruit and develop volunteers, run canvasses and phone banks, support WFP-endorsed campaigns, and help build lasting WFP chapters. The work happens both behind a computer and in the field, including regular evenings and weekends.
We're especially interested in applicants deeply connected to Metro Atlanta communities, comfortable talking to new people, and excited about developing others into political leaders.
Location: HYBRID — NO OFFICE. This position is based in Metro Atlanta, Georgia. Fellows may complete administrative work remotely but must live in or near the communities they organize. Approximately three days per week may involve in-person organizing, including canvasses, meetings, campaign events, community events, and trainings. Travel throughout Metro Atlanta will be a regular part of the position, with occasional additional travel for major WFP events and trainings.
Schedule: This is a part-time position, temporary position averaging 20 hours per week over four months. Electoral organizing happens when voters and volunteers are available, so fellows must be available for regular evening and weekend work, including canvasses, phone banks, volunteer meetings, trainings, candidate events, and other electoral activities.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time.
Short-term, temporary positions: WFP is a unionized workplace. This is a short-term, temporary position that is excluded from the bargaining unit. WFP union employees are represented by Workers United, affiliated with SEIU and Local 1115, Workers United.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor, or take over sponsorship of, employment visas at this time.
