Software Engineer, Mid-Level to Staff+
True Talent Solutions Partners · San Francisco · onsite
ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a team building an AI platform that helps businesses delegate work to agents across their tools and systems. This hands-on individual contributor role may focus on product, platform, or AI infrastructure, with opportunities to work across areas.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build user-facing experiences across web and mobile, making agent workflows clear, reliable, and easy to use.
- Own product features from early exploration through production, incorporating customer feedback along the way.
- Develop backend APIs and services for accounts, permissions, billing, analytics, integrations, and automation.
- Design and operate production systems, improving their reliability, security, and simplicity.
- Build agent infrastructure such as execution harnesses, context management, sandboxed runtimes, and model-serving systems.
- Work across application architecture, data models, distributed systems, databases, and cloud infrastructure as needed.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Three or more years of experience shipping production software, with recent hands-on individual contributor work.
- Production experience with TypeScript across Node.js backends and React frontends, plus ownership of backend or infrastructure work.
- Hands-on experience with GCP and Docker, including deploying services and debugging at the container or Linux level.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and a computer science undergraduate degree.
- Experience building core agent or runtime infrastructure, such as tool execution, sandboxed environments, agent harnesses, or model serving. Work limited to wrappers around model APIs is not a fit.
- Knowledge of systems such as databases, distributed systems, compilers, or operating system internals is valuable; Rust or C++ experience is a plus.
- Clear communication about systems personally built, design choices, and tradeoffs, along with the ability to work as a hands-on engineer across a range of product and infrastructure problems.
