About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Automotive Operations Excellence & Strategy Manager to lead the development, standardization, and execution of operational strategies across our automotive logistics and supply chain network in Europe.
This is a high-impact role for a professional who thrives at the intersection of strategy, operations, process excellence, and people leadership. You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable operational frameworks, driving continuous improvement initiatives, establishing governance and performance standards, and leading a team of Operations Specialists to deliver world-class operational performance.
The ideal candidate combines deep automotive industry expertise with strong analytical, project management, and leadership capabilities, and has a proven track record of transforming complex operational environments into efficient, standardized, and customer-focused organizations.
What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute mid- and long-term automotive operations and logistics strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Define and implement operating models, governance frameworks, and best practices across multiple markets and business units.
- Lead strategic initiatives focused on network optimization, process harmonization, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Act as a key advisor to senior management on operational performance, transformation programs, and business growth opportunities.
- Support commercial teams with innovative logistics and operational solutions for customers and partners.
Operations Excellence & Process Standardization
- Design, implement, and continuously improve operational processes, standards, and procedures.
- Establish and maintain KPI frameworks, dashboards, scorecards, and governance structures.
- Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Ensure consistent execution and compliance with operational standards throughout the network.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Operations Specialists and project resources.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
- Define individual and team performance objectives and support career development plans.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships across Operations, Sales, Finance, Engineering, Procurement, and Customer Service.
Project & Change Management
- Lead cross-functional strategic projects and transformation programs.
- Manage implementation of new operational models, systems, and business initiatives.
- Translate business requirements into practical and scalable operational solutions.
- Ensure successful project delivery regarding scope, timelines, costs, and quality.
- Drive organizational change management and stakeholder engagement.
Automotive Logistics & Supply Chain Development
- Lead transportation network design and supply chain optimization initiatives.
- Evaluate and improve plant-to-market or port-to-market distribution concepts and logistics infrastructures.
- Support strategic sourcing, tender management, and supplier performance programs.
- Develop innovative logistics solutions to improve service levels, efficiency, and customer experience.
Performance Management
- Monitor operational performance across key business metrics.
- Establish reporting standards and management review processes.
- Drive data-driven decision-making through operational analytics and actionable insights.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and business cases related to operational improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, Project Management, or related disciplines are highly desirable.
- 10+ years of experience within the automotive industry, logistics, supply chain, or operations management.
- Proven leadership experience managing operational teams in complex international environments.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing operational strategies and standards.
- Strong background in automotive logistics, network design, transportation management, and process optimization.
- Experience leading organizational transformation and continuous improvement programs.
- Track record of managing cross-functional stakeholders and large-scale projects.
