The Opportunity
This is a senior leadership role in Netwealth's Risk, Legal & Governance function. As the Deputy Chief Risk Officer, you'll lead enterprise risk and compliance and drive a hands-on risk transformation.
This is a hands-on role. You'll lead a team of 20-25, including two General Managers. You'll also work with business leaders, risk and control owners, technology and operations to embed clear Three Lines accountability. Business owners own their risks and controls, and Line 2 advises, checks and challenges independently.
You'll bring confident challenge and sound commercial judgement, and you'll build trusted relationships across the Executive, the business and Board risk committees.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the design and delivery of Netwealth's target risk operating model
- Lead enterprise risk and compliance, including frameworks, risk appetite, control standards, assurance, and incident and breach management
- Embed clear Three Lines accountability and strong independent Line 2 oversight
- Improve GRC data, risk and control mapping, automation and reporting
- Provide clear, decision-useful reporting to the Executive and Board risk committees
- Develop senior risk leaders and teams, with clear priorities and accountabilities
- Act as deputy to the Chief Risk, Legal & Governance Officer for risk, within delegated authority
About you
You're a senior risk leader who has delivered real change, not just advised on it.
You've led enterprise risk transformation end to end, and you've seen it land in the business. You understand how Three Lines accountability works in practice, and you can challenge constructively without becoming a blocker. You're equally credible with a Board committee and with the teams doing the work.
You'll bring:
- Hands-on, end-to-end enterprise risk transformation experience, from design through to adoption and realised benefits
- Substantial senior enterprise risk and compliance leadership in regulated financial services
- Experience with Three Lines accountability, control ownership and independent Line 2 oversight
- Strong knowledge of Australian financial services, APRA and ASIC expectations
- Operational, platform and technology risk, resilience and assurance experience
- Senior people leadership, and the ability to influence Executive, business and Board stakeholders
- Data, technology and GRC fluency, and disciplined prioritisation
- A relevant tertiary degree or equivalent professional experience. Postgraduate study or risk, compliance or governance accreditation is desirable.
Experience in wealth or investment platforms, superannuation, fintech or another regulated, high-growth, technology-led organisation will set you apart.
