ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a small engineering team at a Series A logistics technology company, building partner-facing integrations and data-heavy distributed systems for temperature-controlled and high-value shipments. Your work will help logistics teams understand shipment conditions, assess risk, and respond to exceptions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Design, build, and own end-to-end data flows across partner APIs, webhooks, carriers, sensors, and other vendors.

- Develop backend services that ingest, normalize, contextualize, and process operational and IoT data.

- Build systems that support real-time shipment risk analysis, on-time and in-full prediction, and automated exception workflows.

- Maintain reliable data pipelines through warehousing, monitoring, observability, and on-call support.

- Work independently as a senior individual contributor, collaborating with a small team to deliver scalable, dependable integrations.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- At least 5 years of backend engineering experience building scalable distributed systems, including 10 or more years building production data pipelines.

- Hands-on proficiency in Python and TypeScript or Node.js, plus SQL and relational data modeling.

- Experience with external partner integrations, multi-vendor ingestion, config-driven transformations, and production data flows.

- Knowledge of IoT data ingestion and contextualization, event-driven architecture, and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

- Experience with REST or gRPC APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, and a cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

- Strong software engineering practices, including testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.

- Logistics, supply chain, cold-chain, shipment risk, or regulated healthcare data experience is beneficial.
