About the RoleA multi-company investment and operations firm is hiring its first dedicated Director of IT to build and lead IT operations across a holding company and its portfolio. You will work with a fractional senior IT and security advisor and a managed service provider, creating shared processes while accounting for each portfolio company's needs.
What You'll Do- Lead the IT workstream for acquisitions, including technology inventory, access mapping, account and device setup, and systems integration.
- Build and run a Day 1 to 100 acquisition integration playbook across an active portfolio.
- Design and operate joiner, mover, and leaver workflows, including complete employee offboarding.
- Own the identity platform after its selection and rollout, including single sign-on, provisioning, and lifecycle workflows.
- Maintain an inventory of tools, accounts, credentials, licenses, and renewal dates to support consolidation and security decisions.
- Manage managed service provider performance, service-level agreements, vendor contracts, renewals, and license consolidation.
- Build backend connections that support a cross-portfolio data platform.
What We're Looking For- Six to ten years of hands-on experience in IT operations, systems administration, or managed service provider or consulting delivery, including at least three years in IT leadership.
- Experience supporting multiple companies, business units, or clients, and owning acquisition IT work from due diligence through post-close integration.
- Strong identity and access management skills with platforms such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or JumpCloud.
- Experience with vendor and license management, contract negotiation, and service-level oversight.
- Ability to map undocumented technology environments, develop playbooks, and work with stakeholders across organizational levels.
- Experience with portfolio or holding company operations is beneficial. Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 administration, or experience in regulated industries, is also beneficial.
Compensation & BenefitsBase salary range: $140,000 to $175,000 annually, plus a performance-based bonus. Placement within the range depends on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
