Position Summary

Swagelok Southeast Texas is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our Technical Sales team. This role combines engineering expertise with customer-focused sales and business development.

The Sales Engineer is responsible for identifying and developing Assembly Solutions opportunities, understanding customer applications, developing technical solutions, preparing proposals, and supporting customers throughout the sales process. This position works closely with customers, Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and other internal teams to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements and business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop Assembly Solutions opportunities within assigned customer accounts.

- Partner with Sales and other team members to identify customer needs and expand the use of Swagelok products, assemblies, and services.

- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through meetings, presentations, negotiations, customer visits, FATs, and post-sale support.

- Provide front-end engineering support to develop proposals that meet customer requirements, delivery expectations, and margin objectives.

- Lead and support customer evaluations and audit services to identify application needs and recommend solutions.

- Collaborate with Technical Services Project Managers to develop accurate and detailed proposals for Custom Solutions projects.

- Provide complete and accurate information when handing off sold opportunities to Project Management.

- Serve as a technical resource for customers and internal teams in resolving complex application and engineering challenges.

- Work cross-functionally to coordinate schedules, resources, quality requirements, and project execution.

- Support Assembly Solutions strategic initiatives and business growth.

- Identify opportunities, address challenges, and take initiative to drive results.

- Promote teamwork, collaboration, and effective communication across departments.

- Support a culture where associates are trusted, respected, and treated fairly.

Education and Experience

Required:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

- Experience working directly with customers, including communication and negotiation.

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred:

- Mechanical Engineering degree.

- 4+ years of experience in application engineering, technical sales, application selling, or a related role.

- Experience with fluid system components and industrial applications.

- Experience applying engineering principles to customer-specific applications.
