ABOUT THE ROLE
Join an applied AI team building and deploying solutions for enterprise vertical software businesses. In this founding role, you will own customer deployments end to end and help shape how the engineering function and its products grow.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead customer discovery and translate business needs into product specifications, AI workflows, and software solutions.
- Own deployment lifecycles from initial development through customer adoption and ongoing maintenance, including on-site customer work.
- Develop shared data models and workflows that can be turned into reusable products across industry verticals.
- Partner with company leadership to define and execute the applied AI strategy.
- Help establish and grow the forward deployed engineering team.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Four to six years of experience in forward deployed engineering or another technical, customer-facing role, delivering AI or software solutions to enterprise B2B clients.
- Experience owning technical deployments end to end, from initial build through adoption and post-deployment support.
- Strong enterprise software experience and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Full-stack technical range, including system architecture, data pipelines, LLM application patterns, and AI/ML.
- A degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent technical field, or comparable technical fundamentals.
- Comfort working on-site with customers for extended periods and traveling approximately 50%.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Chicago or New York, and eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary: $200,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
LOCATION
On-site in Chicago, Illinois or New York, with approximately 50% travel to customer locations.
