The Center for Faculty Development & Advancement (CFDA) seeks a faculty fellow for the 26-27 academic year to support initiatives that enhance the success, engagement, and professional development of lecturers across CU Denver. Lecturers play a critical role in advancing the university's mission through high-quality teaching, student mentorship, and contributions to student success, retention, and belonging. This fellowship provides an opportunity for a faculty member to lead efforts that strengthen community, recognition, professional growth, and institutional connection among lecturers.

A primary responsibility of this fellow will be the planning and implementation of the inaugural Lecturer Summit, a spring 2027 collaborative event sponsored by CFDA and UCDALI that celebrates and supports lecturers through professional learning, networking, and community-building opportunities. In partnership with CFDA and campus stakeholders, the fellow will have substantial autonomy to shape the vision, content, and experience of the summit while developing additional initiatives that support lecturer success throughout the academic year.

This position is ideal for a faculty member who is passionate about teaching excellence, faculty development, community building, and advancing institutional support for lecturers.

This position requires an estimated commitment of 5-7 hours per week during the academic year.

Faculty Fellow for Lecturer Success

What you will do\:

Lecturer Summit Leadership

- Serve as the primary faculty lead and organizer for the inaugural Lecturer Summit.

- Collaborate with CFDA and UCDALI, Bridge Liaisons, and other campus partners to develop the summit theme, goals, learning outcomes, and program structure.

- Compile data from lecturers around needs and desires for the Lecturer Summit learning outcomes. - Design engaging programming focused on topics such as\:

- Effective and innovative teaching practices

- Student success and engagement

- Faculty well-being and resilience

- Career development pathways for lecturers

- Inclusive and equitable teaching practices

- Cross-disciplinary collaboration and networking

- Identify and recruit speakers, facilitators, and panelists.

- Facilitate summit sessions and discussions as appropriate.

- Recruit collaborators to increase scope and impact of Summit.

- Assist with participant marketing, outreach, and promotion.

- Evaluate the effectiveness of the Lecturer Summit.

Lecturer Community Building

- Develop opportunities for networking and community among lecturers across schools and colleges.

- Gather feedback from lecturers regarding professional development needs and institutional support.

- Foster cross-disciplinary connections and sharing of effective teaching practices.

Program Development and Innovation

- Work collaboratively with CFDA staff to develop new programming and resources that support lecturer success.

- Recommend strategies for increasing lecturer engagement, recognition, and professional growth opportunities.

- Develop and pilot creative initiatives aligned with identified lecturer needs and interests.

Assessment and Continuous Improvement

- Collect and analyze participant feedback from the Lecturer Summit and related programming.

- Prepare a brief annual report summarizing outcomes, recommendations, and future opportunities.

- Identify metrics and indicators of success related to lecturer engagement and satisfaction.

Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

- Full-time faculty member at CU Denver.

- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and student success.

- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.

- Interest in faculty development, mentoring, and community building.

Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)

- Experience designing or facilitating professional development programs.

- Experience organizing events, workshops, learning communities, or conferences.

- Experience supporting lecturer and/or IRC faculty development.

- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence and belonging.

Conditions of Employment

- This position follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

• Position will last for one academic year

- This position may be performed in a hybrid or remote environment, requiring the ability to work effectively in a remote setting. This includes maintaining a dedicated workspace free of excessive noise or distractions, reliable internet connectivity, and the ability to participate in virtual meetings for extended periods. Employees must be able to independently manage time, remain stationary for prolonged computer-based work, and transport necessary equipment (such as a laptop and peripherals) between their remote work location and the office as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at - $5,000 stipend.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
