ABOUT THE ROLE
Lead the end-to-end architecture for a robotics SaaS platform that connects and operates physical robots across a fleet. This hands-on leadership role sets the technical foundation across software and infrastructure while growing the platform engineering team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design the platform architecture spanning robot connectivity, fleet management, AI capabilities, data pipelines, and model training workflows.
- Set technical direction across frontend, backend, robot-side software, and infrastructure as the platform scales.
- Write and review production code, especially for foundational architecture and abstractions.
- Integrate AI agents and learning capabilities safely, with appropriate guardrails for physical robots.
- Grow and lead the software platform team, and establish engineering standards and architecture review practices.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 8 years of experience in full-stack platform architecture and distributed system design.
- Staff- or Principal-level experience owning architecture across multiple teams, ideally for hardware, IoT, connected-device, or fleet-management systems.
- Experience designing SaaS platforms that manage or control physical devices at scale, including edge-to-cloud systems.
- Recent hands-on coding experience and the ability to explain end-to-end architecture across frontend, cloud, and edge components.
- Strong experience with distributed systems, IoT connectivity, real-time communication, APIs, frontend architecture, data pipelines, and AI or agentic systems.
- A CS or related technical degree, familiarity with AI agents, and an interest in using modern AI tools in engineering workflows.
- Startup or early-stage leadership experience is valuable.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary: $250,000 to $400,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
LOCATION
On-site in Santa Clara, California, United States. Candidates should be based in the area or willing to relocate.
