ABOUT THE ROLE
Join an early-stage B2B SaaS team as its founding AI engineer, building the core of a real-time voice agent that conducts sales conversations and product demos. You will guide the agent's technical direction and help shape a product already serving paying customers.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build the agent's reasoning, tool use, and memory, including ways to recover when live conversations go off script while meeting strict latency requirements.
- Develop evaluation pipelines and use real sales-call data to drive measurable improvements, including fine-tuning where useful.
- Improve the reliability of browser automation so the agent can run product demos while speaking with buyers.
- Ship product features end to end using TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js.
- Work directly with customers and design partners to shape the product and set priorities for models, architecture, and capabilities.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Four to seven years of experience as an AI engineer, with production ownership of AI agents across the development and deployment workflow.
- At least one year of experience with real-time or voice AI systems, such as WebRTC, LiveKit, streaming, or other low-latency applications.
- Hands-on experience in voice AI, AI sales, browser agents, or a fast-growing AI environment.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js, plus experience with LLM APIs, evaluations, observability, and cost optimization.
- Experience with browser automation tools such as Playwright is valuable.
- A CS degree or another technical background, such as mathematics, physics, or engineering.
- Customer-facing engineering experience, startup or founding-team experience, or background in sales technology is useful.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site in New York from the first day.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary is $200,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available. Equity details were not provided.
