Empowering a Bright 56-Year-Old woman to Live Life to the Fullest

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for a kind and caring 56-year-old woman with developmental disabilities. The position is flexible, up to 23 hours a week and the pay is $19.00. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide high-quality care, mentorship, and assistance, fostering independence and helping him achieve his personal goals both at home and in the community.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide compassionate and respectful support in daily living activities at home and in the community

· Mentor to teach Positive Communication Skills, Assist Person To Participate In Hobby, Club Or Class Of Interest and assist with paperwork.

· Encourage and facilitate active participation in community outings and recreational activities

· Promote independence and self-confidence through personalized care and goal-setting

· Ensure a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment at all times

· Support the individual in achieving personal milestones and fostering a sense of belonging

· Empowering Individuals: Support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.

· Facilitating Daily Life: Assist with a variety of daily living tasks tailored to the individual's specific needs,

· Encouraging Life Skills: Teach and promote the development of new life skills such as cooking, gardening, and social interaction. Encourage participation in outdoor activities and help foster community engagement.

· Documenting Progress: Maintain accurate, detailed records of daily activities and progress toward individual goals.

Qualifications

· Previous experience in direct support or caregiving roles is preferred but not required.

· Familiarity with, and experience working with, individuals with developmental disabilities a plus

· Excellent communication skills for positive interactions with individuals, their families, and team members.

· Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in helping others reach their highest potential.

· Ability to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
