Facilities Technology Manager

TerraPower LLC. · Bellevue, WA

TerraPower is a nuclear technology company based in Bellevue, Washington. At its core, the company is working to raise living standards globally through a more affordable, secure, and environmentally friendly form of nuclear energy along with innovations in medical isotopes to improve human health. In 2006, TerraPower originated with Bill Gates and a group of like-minded visionaries who evaluated the fundamental challenges to raising living standards around the world. They recognized energy access was crucial to the health and economic well-being of communities and decided that the private sector needed to take action and create energy sources that would advance global energy deployment. TerraPower’s mission is to be a world leader in new nuclear technologies, while developing innovators and future leaders in the nuclear field. As a result, the company’s activities in the fields of nuclear energy and related sciences are yielding significant innovations in the safety and economics of nuclear power, hybrid energy and medical applications – all for significant human health benefits.

TerraPower is seeking to hire highly motivated and forward-thinking professionals who are interested in focusing on advanced nuclear reactor research and development and influencing change within the nuclear power landscape and bringing forward the critical production of medical isotopes. Manager, Facilities Technology

TerraPower's Real Estate and Facilities team is responsible for the design, implementation, operations, and management of TerraPower's locations. The Manager, Facilities Technology Services, owns the technology layer that makes TerraPower's physical workplaces function: visitor management, space and seating management, physical security and access control, enterprise voice and conferencing, and print and reprographics services.

This role will provide leadership and oversight for Facilities Technology services, including Audio/Visual (A/V), Microsoft Teams Rooms, access control and security systems, Microsoft Teams administration, telephone and communications technology, visitor management, space reservation, asset tracking, and related technology platforms.

The Manager, Facilities Technology will lead a team responsible for the delivery and support of TerraPower’s Facilities Technology services across several sites in the Unites States. Direct reports will include a Systems Engineer II and a Facilities Application Support Technician II. The Manager will establish priorities, assign work, provide coaching and performance management, support professional development, and ensure the team delivers reliable, secure, and high-quality technology services.

This is a working manager role. In addition to leading the team, the incumbent remains a hands-on senior practitioner: personally resolving escalated issues, standing up technology in new buildings, and providing technical direction across low-voltage hardware, IP networking, and cloud-managed SaaS platforms. The role demands genuine depth in both telecommunications and networking — applied primarily to diagnosis, specification, and coordination rather than to administration of the underlying server and network infrastructure, which is owned by Enterprise IT.

The Manager serves as a key liaison between the Real Estate and Facilities organization, Enterprise IT, Security, Construction, Project Management, and external technology vendors, and reports to the Director of Real Estate and Facilities.

Visitor Management and Workplace Systems

- Partner with Facilities, HR, and site leadership on moves, adds, and changes; ensure floor plans and assignment data remain accurate as headcount and site configurations change.

Physical Security Technology and Access Control

- Own the Lenel access control system: cardholder records, access levels and group design, credential lifecycle, door schedules, alarm and event configuration, and audit reporting.

- Own badge production end to end — badge printers, consumables, templates, credential encoding, and issuance procedures across all sites.

- Oversee video surveillance systems, including camera health, placement and commissioning, retention and storage configuration, and footage retrieval requests in coordination with Security and Legal.

- Oversee door and security hardware at all building entrances and egresses: readers, controllers, electrified hardware, request-to-exit devices, intercoms, panels, and associated low-voltage infrastructure.

- Serve as the technical owner of the relationship with the 24/7 security monitoring vendor; manage escalation paths, alarm response configuration, service levels, and coordination during incidents.
