ABOUT THE ROLE
Join an early-stage SaaS team as its Founding AI Engineer and lead development of a real-time AI voice agent for sales conversations. You will own the agent's technical direction and help shape a product already serving paying customers.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build the agent's reasoning, tool use, memory, and ability to recover when live conversations go off script while meeting low-latency requirements.
- Develop evaluation pipelines and use sales-call data to drive measurable improvements, including fine-tuning where appropriate.
- Improve the reliability of browser automation so the agent can demonstrate a product in a live call.
- Ship end-to-end product work using TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js, working with customers and design partners.
- Set technical direction for models and methods, and decide what to build, buy, and develop next.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Four to seven years of experience as an AI engineer, including hands-on experience shipping AI agents end-to-end in production.
- At least one year working with real-time or voice AI systems, such as WebRTC, LiveKit, streaming, or other low-latency applications.
- Experience in voice AI, AI sales, browser agents, or another fast-growing AI environment.
- Proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js, plus experience with LLM APIs, evaluation, observability, and cost optimization.
- Experience with browser automation tools such as Playwright is useful.
- A computer science degree or another technical background, such as mathematics, physics, or engineering.
- Ability to work on-site in New York from the start of the role.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary: $200,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
