Afterhours Support Worker

Sunrise Centre | Darwin, NT

Permanent Part Time (16 hours per week, Maximum-Term Contract until 24 January 2028)

SCHADS Level 3

Why this role matters

For many people experiencing homelessness, the after-hours period can be one of the most vulnerable times of the day. Feeling safe, supported and connected can make a significant difference to a person's wellbeing, stability and journey towards independence.

As an Afterhours Support Worker with The Salvation Army, you will help create a safe and welcoming environment where residents feel respected, valued and supported outside of business hours. Working with people experiencing homelessness, alcohol and other drug challenges, mental health concerns and other complex needs, you will play an important role in maintaining safety, wellbeing and continuity of support during some of the most critical periods of their recovery and housing journey.

This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated team that provides more than accommodation. Together, you will help create a place where people can feel secure, build confidence and focus on achieving positive outcomes for their future.
