Key Responsibilities:

- Inventory strategy and governance

- Define and lead our inventory strategy, including SKU segmentation, service level targets, and stocking policy by fulfillment center

- Establish clear guardrails that balance service, working capital, and profitability, with defined decision rights across functions

- Build the framework for SKU governance, including how new items are introduced and how unproductive inventory is identified and exited

- Define the criteria for which SKUs we own and stock versus which are better served through marketplace or third-party fulfillment, balancing customer speed and experience, margin, and inventory investment

- Own the long-term inventory planning roadmap across process, systems, and operating model

- Demand forecasting

- Establish an enterprise forecasting framework with clear accuracy measures and accountability

- Combine historical data, system-driven forecasting, and merchant input into a single, SKU-level demand signal

- Account for seasonality, promotions, product lifecycle, and regional demand patterns

- Replenishment and network allocation

- Own replenishment execution, including purchase order quantities, across all categories

- Determine where inventory should be positioned across our fulfillment centers to maximize same-day and next-day delivery reach while managing total inventory investment

- Improve lead time accuracy and vendor performance in partnership with Merchandising and vendor partners

- Performance and KPI ownership

- Establish and own inventory KPIs, including in-stock and fill rate, forecast accuracy, inventory turns and weeks of supply, GMROI, and overall inventory productivity

- Deliver clear executive reporting with root-cause analysis and corrective action

- Cross-functional leadership

- Serve as the primary inventory planning partner to Merchandising, Finance, and Supply Chain Operations. Merchandising owns category financial plans, assortment, and margin strategy; you own translating those plans into inventory decisions

- Partner with Finance on annual budgeting, ongoing reforecasting, and inventory investment targets

- Systems, data, and operating model

- Own planning systems strategy and adoption, and work with IT, Analytics, and our automation and WMS programs to build the reporting and forecasting tools the team needs

- Leadership and talent development

- Build, develop, and retain a high-performing planning organization

- Assess the current team structure and design the model that fits our growth, including whether forecasting and replenishment should be organized as separate functions

- Develop bench strength and succession plans, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What you will bring:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field (MBA preferred)

- 10+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, inventory planning, or supply chain

- 4+ years of experience leading professional-level teams

- Proven success improving inventory productivity, service levels, and working capital

- Strong financial acumen and experience managing inventory investment

- Experience in e-commerce, wholesale distribution, and multi-site distribution environments

- Experience managing inventory decisions in a model that blends owned inventory with marketplace or drop-ship assortment

- Experience with forecasting, replenishment, ERP, and planning systems, and with S&OP processes including machine learning and AI capabilities

- Advanced analytical skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
