Analyst, Office of the CEO
ON.energy · Miami, Florida, United States
ON.energy is setting the standard for large load interconnection. ON’s patented AI UPS™ is a medium-voltage UPS that serves as a firewall, protecting the data center from the grid, and the grid from the data center. With multiple gigawatts currently under construction, we are enabling grid-safe data centers.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Office of the CEO is the team that keeps the company’s leadership, Board of Directors, and investors aligned on what matters. It owns the monthly and quarterly reporting rhythm, the company’s OKR process, competitive intelligence, and the cross-functional strategic initiatives the CEO prioritizes.
We are hiring an Analyst to own the recurring reporting work-streams of the Office of the CEO and to support the Chief of Staff on strategic analysis. You will produce the materials the Board and executive team rely on every month, working directly with the CFO, COO, CTO, and the heads of Sales, People, Tax, and Corporate Development to source, validate, and present the numbers. The reporting rhythm is the core of the role for its full duration. As you build command of it, you will take on strategy work alongside it: business cases, market analysis, and the initiatives that shape where the company goes next.
This is a role for someone one to two years out of an investment banking or consulting analyst program who wants direct exposure to how a fast-growing energy technology company is run at the top, and a growing seat in its strategic decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Board and Executive Reporting (the core of the role)
- Monthly Board report. Own the end-to-end production of the Board Monthly Report: collect inputs from Finance, Operations, Sales, People, Tax, and Legal; update financial, pipeline, project delivery, asset platform, and headcount sections; draft the executive summary; and ensure every number ties to its source and every slide meets the Board standard.
- Quarterly Board meetings. Prepare the quarterly Board pack: build the deck shell from the agenda, transform functional teams’ slides into Board-level pages, analyze the supporting Excel and PDF inputs, and manage the timeline so materials are complete and reviewed ahead of distribution.
- OKR tracking. Maintain the company’s OKR tracking system (SharePoint and Power BI), manage the monthly data collection from functional teams, process change requests, and prepare the progress reporting that feeds the executive team and the Board.
- Competitive intelligence. Research and write the monthly competitive intelligence report on the medium-voltage UPS and AI data center power market: competitor product launches, pricing signals, customer wins, regulatory developments, and the implications for ON.energy’s positioning.
- Executive communications. Support the preparation of CEO town halls, leadership offsites, and investor updates, including data gathering, slide production, and follow-up tracking.
Strategic Analysis (growing involvement over time)
- Business cases and models. Build financial models, market sizing, and scenario analyses for cross-functional initiatives such as new commercial models, grid-interactive product opportunities, and capital allocation decisions.
- Decision materials. Draft memos and presentations that frame a question, lay out the options, and recommend a path for the CEO and executive team.
- Special projects. Take ownership of defined workstreams within the Chief of Staff’s strategic initiatives, from research and stakeholder interviews through to the final deliverable.
What success looks like:
- First 90 days: You have run one full monthly Board report cycle with supervision, understand every data source behind the deck, and have taken over the OKR data collection process.
- First 6 months: You own the monthly Board report and OKR tracking end to end, have delivered a quarterly Board pack, and produce the competitive intelligence report with light review.
- First 12 months: The reporting rhythm runs efficiently and reliably on your ownership, and alongside it you contribute to strategic analysis with workstreams of your own.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- One to two years of experience as an analyst in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or a comparable structured analytical program.
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record in finance, economics, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills: you can build a clean three-statement or project model and turn it into a slide an executive can read in thirty seconds.
- Fluency with financial statements and operating metrics, and the discipline to trace every figure to its source.
- Exceptional written communication: concise, structured, and precise, with the judgment to know what a Board director needs to see and what they do not.
- High standards for the quality of final deliverables, down to consistent formatting and terminology.
- Curiosity about energy, infrastructure, and AI data centers, and the initiative to learn a technical business quickly.
- Ability to manage recurring deadlines across many stakeholders without losing accuracy, and to work with senior executives with professionalism and discretion.
- Low ego, comfort with ambiguity, and a preference for ownership over instruction.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to energy, power infrastructure, data centers, industrial technology, or other capital-intensive businesses.
- Experience with Power BI, SharePoint lists, or similar reporting tools.
- Familiarity with AI tools (for example Claude or Microsoft Copilot) for research, analysis, and document production. Much of our reporting workflow is AI-assisted, and you will help improve it.
- Spanish or Portuguese, given our operations across the U.S. and Latin America.
Why this role
- A seat in the Office of the CEO at a company creating a new category of power infrastructure for AI.
- Direct working relationships with the CEO, Chief of Staff, and the full executive team, and visibility into Board-level decision-making from day one.
- Growing involvement in strategic decision-making as you master the reporting rhythm, with mentorship from a Chief of Staff with an M&A advisory background.
- Broad exposure across Finance, Operations, Sales, Corporate Development, and People, which can open the door to opportunities in other functions of the business over time.
- The chance to shape how a growth-stage company runs its operating rhythm as it scales.
