Job Responsibilities & Duties
- The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for the safety and productivity of the day shift production crew. They are also expected to fill in as Production Manager during absences.
- Train new employees on safety standards and the quality management system.
- Oversee the training of new employees on job-specific procedures.
- Assist production manager with supervision of the day shift work team.
- Operation of the production lines including performing routine in-process tests, optimize production rates.
- Effective trouble-shooting of process and maintenance issues to minimize downtime.
- Daily tracking and weekly reporting of temporary employee time sheets.
- Ensure compliance with all JRS policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma.
- 2 years of first line supervision experience preferred
- Strong sense of urgency regarding plant operations, quality and safety.
- Effective at communicating with all levels of the organization.
- Adept in use of MS Office, Outlook, Excel and Word.
