HR Generalist

As the HR Generalist at Scharmach Automotive Group, you will manage day-to-day human resources administration across the dealership group, including onboarding, benefits, employee records, and recruitment support. Working closely with HR leadership, you will serve as a primary resource for dealership staff, ensure operational compliance with employment regulations, maintain core HR systems, and support initiatives that drive workforce efficiency and employee satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage the end-to-end onboarding process, including offer paperwork, background checks, I-9/E-Verify compliance, and new hire orientation.

Serve as the initial point of contact for employees and managers regarding benefits, payroll inquiries, dealership policies, and general HR matters.

Maintain accurate employee files and HRIS data, processing timely updates for status changes, compensation adjustments, and terminations.

Administer daily employee benefits operations, including eligibility tracking, life-event updates, carrier enrollments, and annual open enrollment logistics.

Track and administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, Washington PFML, and personal leaves, in accordance with applicable laws.

Coordinate full-cycle recruitment for non-executive roles, managing job requisitions, candidate screenings, interview schedules, and applicant tracking.

Prepare official HR correspondence, such as offer letters, employment verifications, and dealership-wide policy communications.

Support employee relations processes by maintaining thorough documentation, conducting follow-up tracking, and assisting with workplace investigations.

Monitor compliance requirements and employee development milestones, tracking mandatory training, certifications, and professional licensing renewals.

Collaborate with HR leadership on organizational initiatives, including policy rollouts, departmental restructuring, and workforce reporting.
