ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage legal technology team building AI-powered software for legal workflows. As a founding product engineer, you will work closely with attorneys and AI engineers to create core product capabilities and help establish the team's engineering practices.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Build and own full-stack features, from data models and backend systems to interfaces used by attorneys and clients.

- Turn legal workflows and review playbooks into reliable, production-grade software in collaboration with attorneys and AI engineers.

- Make pragmatic architecture and tooling decisions that support rapid development and future growth.

- Write maintainable code, prioritize reliability, and take features through production deployment.

- Help shape engineering culture, standards, and hiring as the team grows.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- One to three years of experience building and shipping production software, ideally at an early-stage company or as a founder.

- Full-stack development skills, including TypeScript and React, a modern backend stack, and relational databases.

- Hands-on experience building with AI or large language models, professionally or through personal projects.

- Experience owning features end to end, building data models for complex workflows, and making sound engineering trade-offs under time constraints.

- Strong product judgment, communication skills, and comfort working with ambiguity in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment.

- Legal technology, contract management, document processing, or experience collaborating with attorneys or other domain experts is beneficial.
